In an on-going effort to raise disciplined and interesting children, Ed and I made the decision that our Playstation needs to go. As in, permanently. The kids are taking our decision in stride and even decided to sell their DS's and games.
I told Ed that I feel sorry for the kids of this generation. They have SO many distractions. It's no wonder they only want to do the bare minimum in school. They want to rush through their work to play video games, watch tv, listen to their iPODs, etc., etc., etc. I reminded Ed that it is OUR responsibility to help them eliminate, or at least drastically reduce, these distractions. We need to show them that life isn't always about the fun and games but about working hard and being disciplined in whatever it is God would have us to do.
This parenting thing isn't always easy; however, God is leading us, one step at a time.
