1. Camp Kick! The kids attended their first tae kwon do camp over the weekend. After some initial homesickness on Cameron's part, they both had a great time and are excited to return next year.
2. A 24-hour power outage due to a bad, although brief, storm that blew through here on Sunday afternoon. As a result, we had a lot of fun with flashlights and forts and showers by candlelight.
3. A new puppy. She's lovable and sweet and completely irresistible. Pippa is her name (after THE Pippa Middleton), although she also answers to "Royal Pipsqueak."
4. A schoolroom in progress. To be finished next week when the kids go to Iowa for a few days.
5. End-of-summer blues. We have had way too much fun and the time has gone way.too.fast. However, a new fall-scented candle and the thought of Mr. Scarecrow on my front stoop are helping me to get somewhat excited about fall.
